To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of morning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great Oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.
Ministry update: 8/29/18
At the “Encouraging Word” ministry we are hard at work finishing up our first Bible study. It is a five week study called “Beauty for Ashes”. It is all about discovering the Lord’s healing touch for our lives when dealing with discouragement.
Discouragement and depression are emotions that every person has experienced at one time or another in their lives. Learning how to see the warning signs and deal with discouragement before it turns into depression can be tricky; however, it can make the difference between being completely overwhelmed by our emotions and being able to take steps to turn our discouragement around.
We have a focus group that will start on September 20th to try out our new study and give us some constructive feedback. Then we will send it off to the printer, in hopes that it will be available to the public very soon.
All of our studies will be made available online at Encouragingwordforlife.com, when they are completed.
At the Encouraging Word we have a passion to share God’s Word with others. We feel the Lord has instilled Isaiah 61:1 on our hearts.
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me(us), because the Lord has anointed me(us) to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me(us) to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.
In the words of musician Jay Thomas, from his song “Famous”, he sings, “Until the fame of Jesus fills the earth, we will shout and sing, we will lift one voice. Until the nations all declare your worth, will give you everything.”
At the Encouraging Word we want the fame of Jesus to fill the earth, we desire to share God’s Good News with as many people as possible. To encourage people to get into the word of God and discover God’s love, power and mercy for themselves.
We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word today; read 1 Kings 17:1-16, it’s the story of the widow at Zarephath and you will be ready to do the first lesson in the Beauty for Ashes Bible study. Learn how God desires to meet your needs and how we can trust him to provide for his children.
May the Lord draw you ever closer to Him as you read His encouraging Word.
