Bring the Rain!

Genesis 2:4b-6

When the Lord God made the heavens and the earth, there were no plants or grain growing on the earth, for the Lord God had not sent any rain. And no one was there to cultivate the soil. But water came up out of the ground and watered all the land.

Earth with no rain; what a strange concept. I live in Portland, Oregon which gets a lot of rain, so it’s difficult for me to imagine a world without rain. Yet the Lord supplied water to all of the land by having it come up out of the ground, probably through Springs.

I tend to get set in my ways and expect to get the results I want by doing the same thing I have always done. But I have learned that sometimes the Lord wants to change things up. To help me see that it’s not me that brings the rain, but the Lord.

Formula for God given water:

1. What is it that you need, want or hope to achieve?

2. Bring your request before the Lord in prayer.

3. Lay down your expectations of how your prayer should be answered.

3. Now open your eyes and see how the Lord will answer your prayer in His perfect timing, style, and with His creative spin.

Lord Jesus, forgive my pride and arrogance, to think my ways are the only ways. Help me be open to your leading and to receive your water in my life in anyway you want to bring it. I love you Lord, amen.

  1. Once again, your right on the button!!! Of course I want Mark to be healed right now, a brand new perfect liver!!! But (that famous But God) God has a different plan…. and already I have been able to see so many miracles I would have missed seeing…… and, in faith, I am so looking forward to seeing so many more that I know are coming!!!!! Praise Jesus!!!!

  2. Oh Marlene! That is so beautiful! Your love and gratitude for the Lord open you up to be able to see His blessings and gifts along the way! I pray that Mark can “see” them too and be drawn ever closer to our Savior!
