Why Praise

Written by Marlene, from Panama.

His brilliant splendor fills the heavens, and the earth is filled with his praise. His coming is as brilliant as the sunrise. Rays of light flash from his hands, where his awesome power is hidden.”

Habakkuk 3: 3B – 4 (NLT)

I think that C. S. Lewis explained it best…. “I think we delight to praise what we enjoy because the praise not merely expresses but completes the enjoyment; ….the delight is incomplete till it is expressed.”

When I see the miracle of tiny fingernails in the tiny perfect fingers of a newborn baby, the uncountable number of different colors in a fall tree, and the breathtaking sunset I tried to photograph above…… I need to praise!!

We can’t see something this beautiful and not praise the Creator, not because God needs our praises, but because we are unable to feel complete joy in any gift until we express it. Have you noticed that when we worship or praise the Lord for his provision, we feel lighter, breathe easier, sigh…….. the joy is complete! The added bonus is that the more we complete this circle of praise, the more eyes are opened. We start seeing praiseworthy miracles everywhere we look.

Prayer: Thank you Jesus, for every good and perfect gift in my life, for I know they all come from you. Help my eyes to stay open so I can see and appreciate every one of them. Praise your Glorious Name! Amen
