“Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.”
2 Timothy 4:2 NLT
“Preach the Word”… fewer words can terrify me more than these… it always puts in mind the picture of standing in front of a crowd and having to speak. This is not in my comfort zone at all! The one time I was asked to get up in front of a large group to talk, I could barely speak clearly. I couldn’t remember what I had said and needed a shower after sweating so much! I will always have great respect for those who can speak to large groups.
I love this version from The Message:
“He is about to break into the open with his rule, so proclaim the Message with intensity; keep on your watch. Challenge, warn, and urge your people. Don’t ever quit. Just keep it simple.” 2 Timothy 4:1-2
Now I know….
I can keep on watch for those who need the message of God’s love by showing kindness, sharing smiles, hugs, and tears with those who are hurting.
I can challenge people to trust God’s Word because it never fails.
I can warn people when they are searching for love or acceptance outside of God’s will.
I can encourage people as they grow in their relationship with God.
I can choose to never quit on people, to keep loving them with the love of Jesus.
I can “keep it simple,” (my forte)!
Prayer: Dearest Heavenly Father, keep me close to Your heart and continually fill me with Your light. Keep my eyes and heart open to know when I can share Your amazing love with anyone you place in my path, in any way You plan. Amen
Thank you Marlene, for reminding us of the many ways to preach the Word.

Oh Marlene, you nailed it for sure. This is such a timely message when we will be gathering with our friends, families and loved ones, some of whom are not walking with the Lord. I love all your “I Can” messages and I especially appreciate your sweet prayer to share with anyone in our path , anyway God plans. Keep it simple.
Blessings, Susan
