A White Christmas

Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.              Isaiah 1:18 NLT

But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.             1 Corinthians 6:11

As winter and Christmas are rapidly approaching, I am looking forward to the snowy days where the white glistening snowflakes fall and blanket the earth, plants and trees. I love when the snow falls and gathers on the once muddy ground. The pure white snow renews the scenery and reflects the light. The once dark nights, now glow from the moonlight’s reflection on the snow. Snow-covered trees sparkle and are robed in white. A type of restoration has occurred. For me, it is a glimpse of God’s glory and His plan of restoration for us. For our sinful ways muddy our lives, yet Christ came to wash away our sins, to make us white as snow. When we choose to follow Christ there is forgiveness and restoration. Christ came so that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Our once muddy lives have been purified so that we can be white as snow to reflect God’s glory.

Prayer: Dear Lord, Thank you for sending Your Son, that by His crimson blood, we are washed clean white as snow. May we each live life abundantly by seeking opportunities to tell others about You, so that they can be washed clean to celebrate a new and truly wonderful white Christmas. In Jesus name, Amen.
