“But God”

“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”  Romans 5:8 NLT

But God…. to me, is one of the most comforting and powerful statements I read in the Bible. This statement is probably in every testimony and every great story of God’s help in our lives. Just a quick Bible search brought more than 50 references!

But God is my helper. The Lord keeps me alive!”  Psalms 54:4 NLT

But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer.”  Psalms 66:19 NLT

But God has not allowed him to do me any harm.”  Genesis 31:7 NLT

But God had listened to Abraham’s request and kept Lot safe,”  Genesis 19:29 NLT

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.”  Genesis 50:20 NLT

Are you still waiting on a “But God” in your situation? I have received so many, and I wait expectantly for more, knowing that the God of all comfort, the creator of the universe, loves and cares for me. That every story of His great love for me will have a “But God” in it. Showing how He turned a seemingly impossible situation into a miraculous answer to prayer.

Prayer: Precious Lord, I thank You and praise Your name for every answer to prayer. For every “But God” You have supplied. For all the times yet ahead I can testify to Your great work in my life. In Your wonderful name. Amen
