I am the Bread of Life

“It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me. No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father. Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life.” John 6:45-48 (NIV)

“Jesus said, ‘I am the Bread of Life. The person who aligns with me hungers no more and thirsts no more, ever.” John 6:35 (MSG)

How do we align with Jesus? First and foremost, we must believe that He is the Son of God. It is essential that we choose Him as our Lord and Savior. To align with Him, we study the Bible to know Him and His Father. In doing so, we learn about and fall in love with Him. When we love the Lord, we want to respect and please Him.

The Bible is filled with wisdom for each one of our lives. It is our choice to honor His Word and follow His instructions. We see throughout the Bible what happens when people stray from Him: they become hungry and thirsty and never satisfied. Today, we see dissatisfaction all around us. Yet, Jesus said that He is the Bread of Life. He will fill us with the most “organic food” that will nourish our heart, soul and mind. He will “feed” us through this journey of life until it is time for Him to take us home where we will live eternally. Therefore, hunger and thirst no more: eat of His bread and believe in Him.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30 (NIV)

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for the wisdom of Your Word. Open our eyes and ears to hear Your voice clearly, so that we may be in alignment with You each and every day. May we hunger and thirst no more. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
