The Gift of Friendship

A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back to back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple braided cord is not easily broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12

I experienced true, godly friendship a year ago when my life and career were in great turmoil. I was under heavy attack from the enemy: ridicule, persecution, distraction and lies, were just some of his tactics against me.

Physically, I was exhausted; I couldn’t sleep. I was stressed and anxious, with constant chest pain and headaches. Spiritually, I was so discouraged and heartsick I could barely function. I constantly cried out to the Lord to save me, to remove this horrible situation, but He did not.

Instead, the Lord sent me friends. Two beautiful friends, that stood by my side. They encouraged me and spoke words of truth to me. These friends helped me carry my burdens and because of that they suffered alongside me, even to the point of leaving the ministry that they loved because of me.

I hated what happened to me; but the Lord has blessed me so richly because of it, that I am now grateful that He allowed it.

I am now in a new ministry that is growing and thriving, and by my side or two sisters I am honored to call friends.

True friendship is a gift from God. Take a moment to thank the Lord for your friendships today.

Prayer: Dear Father, I am so thankful for the deep friendships you have given me and the new friendships you are starting for me. Help me to be a true and faithful friend to them. Amen.

  1. Yes, I am truly thankful for the friends I have, especially the sisters who love Him and worship Him and come along side me to encourage me and teach me His truth. Thank you my sweet sisters in Christ! May He bring others to share in this sweet ministry and to read this blog and learn about Him. Blessings to you three! Susan
