Open My Eyes

“Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.”

Psalm 119:18 NIV

“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all.” 1 Chronicles 29:11

Early yesterday morning, I had the privilege of sitting in my comfy bed reading my Bible while the birds chirped softly outside. My thoughtful hubby brought me a hot, steamy cup of coffee that I sipped on while contemplating the things I read. When I first began to read, it was just words on a page, however, by the third verse, something inside of me began to stir. I kept reading, praying, yearning for more of what God desired to convey to me through His Word.

My eyes became opened as I saw the majesty and greatness of God. My appetite for His wisdom grew and my coffee sat cold and I no longer heard the birds or any other distractions. The words I read became an intimate conversation with my Heavenly Father. I was comforted, reassured and felt peace: God’s peace that only He can provide to His children. I was so encouraged!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for that special time with You! I know that You are always there and it is our choice to come to You. Thank You for the Bible that is Your Word filled with guidance, love and hope. In Your precious Son’s name, Jesus. Amen!

  2. See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! 1 John 3:1a
Just as a loving parent longs for their children, we have a loving Father that wants to spend time with us, and encourage us!
