God in the Center

”The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” Psalm 18:2

My husband and I had the blessing of staying in Sunriver with two wonderful couples from The Encouraging Word. Our time in prayer, fellowship and ministry was beautiful. We even were able to break away to explore Paulina Falls and the Deschutes River (photo above). One of my favorite things to photograph is nature: God’s creation. I find it great encouragement when I gaze upon His handiwork! Because I see His beautiful art everywhere, it revitalizes me and reminds me to choose to put God in the center of my life.

Our lives are better with God in the center. It does not mean we won’t have difficulties, but it means that God will help us through life’s challenges. It’s like going through rapids with a life jacket on. You’ll stay afloat and may go through a wave, but you won’t completely sink. You will see and feel the blessings He provides no matter your circumstances.

Sometimes, though, in the thick of a situation, you may feel alone or like you are drowning. You may feel like waves keep crashing onto you. It’s times like this when we can read our Bible and see who God is; Rescuer, Comforter, Redeemer, Healer, Deliverer, just to name a few. As we keep reading the Bible to see who God is, we see His wisdom on how to handle every aspect of our lives. He has so much to offer in His Word! We just have to choose to put God in the center!

Prayer: Dear Creator of all things, thank You for giving us Your Word. Thank you for all of the beautiful reminders of Who You are! Thank You for the ability to share Who You are with others. May each reader be blessed as they seek You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

  1. Yes, Tiffany, loved your message on keeping God in the center of our lives. Reading His Word to sustain us in good times and turbulent times. He is all those things you named and more. Blessings, Susan
