May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
I am an early riser, some might say an extreme early riser… (Haha)
I enjoy getting up anytime between 3:30 & 5:30 every morning. I love that I can read my bible on my iPad during these hours, so that I don’t have to turn on a single light and can be surrounded by the quiet darkness. I do this every morning in confident hope that I will be rewarded with the joy of watching a brand new day arrive in all of God’s amazing glory. From the first hint of light coming to the sky, to the complete splendor of a breathtaking sunrise. As you can testify by some of the photos I use here, I am rewarded in this hope often.
When I read this scripture this morning, I could see that true hope, God’s hope, is the same. When we feel like we are surrounded by darkness and silence, in God there is hope that the light is coming! Just as we have complete confidence that the day will dawn, we can have that same confidence that God will resolve any situation or problem. We also know that God’s solution will have the same breathtaking beauty as that awesome sunrise.
During this last year of physical crisis in our lives, I can testify that it was the confident hope in God that gave us peace and joy during the darkest of times. Now, like the glory and beauty of His sunrises after the dark of night, we are experiencing the breathtaking wonder of His miraculous answer to our situation.
Prayer: Thank you God for your hope! Thank you for showing us again and again that our hope in You never fails.. May I always “overflow with hope in the power of the Holy Spirit”. Amen
