I cling to you; your right hand upholds me. Psalm 63:8 NIV
I stay close to you, and your powerful arm supports me. Psalm 63:8 CEV
My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me. Psalm 63:8 ESV
It was a beautiful morning at Eagle Fern Camp. The sun was warm and the river water was cold, yet sparkled brightly as it reflected green trees and the blue sky. At the river’s edge, friends gathered to pray, witness and cheer for Jacob and Michael’s baptism. August 12, 2019, my sons, Jacob and Michael, chose on their sixteenth birthday to be baptized and publicly confess their commitment to a personal relationship with Jesus. With such joy in my heart, I watched each son confidently wade into the water with their Dad as he baptized them. I can only imagine the joy that Jesus feels!
Jacob and Michael said it was a dream come true for them. For me, it was years of prayers finally answered. Thankfully, they had accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior at a young age. I have been praying specifically for them for over a decade this prayer “Lord, please instill in my children a soul with a craving for You, a heart that clings passionately to You.” It is an amazing choice to follow Christ, but staying close to Him through prayer and reading His Word is indispensable and the blessings (protection and favor) that follow are immeasurable. Therefore, I will continue to pray for a never-ending passion for God as they continue to cling to Jesus confidently each and every day.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the joy and renewal we receive when we cling to You. You gently lead us beside still waters and powerfully guide us through life’s struggles. May we all have a never-ending passion for You as we closely seek You daily. May we always be grateful for Your protection and favor upon our lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen
