“He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills.” Psalm 147:8
“Whatever the LORD pleases, He does, In heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps.” Psalm 135:6
They vary in shades of silver, gray, blues, lavenders and violets. Morning and night they also catch on fire with hues of orange, reds, and yellows. Sometimes they swirl around or bellow upwards towards heaven. Or, resolutely blanketing light from entering through. At other times they stretch out lonely with one, two, or maybe three among the vast empty blue with bright rays striking through. Latterly they cluster and group, ready to unleash tears causing terra firma to flood. Complete darkness falls below the thick wave as it crosses above. In turn, they have been found tightly spinning like an ice skater pirouetting throwing shards of objects to and fro. Conversely, they softly float as shapes from one’s imagination emerge across the sky. All these beauties are crafted by the Masterful Artist.
As extensive are the clouds above, so are His people below. God has created each one of us in His image. We are all so unique in the ways we look, talk, feel and think. Recently my family and I went to a theme park where an average of 44,000 people a day enter through its gates. As we enjoyed the rides and attractions, I also enjoyed observing the people around me pondering where they came from and what their lives might be like back at their home. Based on behaviors towards others and the words that were spoken I wondered if they knew our Creator.
When people dressed as famous characters walked by and crowds flocked to them, I marveled at the thought of when Jesus returns, if people will be running and lining up eagerly to see Him. Oh, what a day that will be! That will far surpass any grand day that we, His children, will have ever had!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we so look forward to the return of Your Son, Jesus! As Your Word says, “It is written: ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’ So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God” (Romans 14:11-12). Lord, though we are all different, open the eyes and ears to those who have not yet heard Your voice calling them to You; so that we all can be together with You someday. Thank You for Your patience, forgiveness, and loving-kindness. In Your precious Son’s name, Jesus. Amen
