Who do you love in your life? Perhaps, what first comes to mind, are your parents, your spouse, children or a best friend. Do you love the Lord? Do you love the One who loves you the most?
“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” 1 John 4:7-10
Do you see all that God has done for us? Jesus went to the cross for us, because He loves us so much. Do you understand the depth of His love and forgiveness? Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Or are you holding back because you think you’ve done something that God won’t love you for? Do you feel broken, confused, or unloved? Are you doubting God’s love for you?
Billy Graham once said, “No matter what sin we have committed, no matter how black, dirty, shameful, or terrible it may be, God loves us. We may be at the very gate of hell itself, but God loves us with an everlasting love.”
“Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” 1 John 4:11-16
Is there someone in your life that you feel called to reach out to? Someone who needs to know the affectionate grace and love of the Lord? Someone who has drifted from the Lord? Is God nudging you to call them and show His love through you? Take some quiet time to hear the Lord’s will and be blessed.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for Your healing, unfailing, everlasting love. Please fill our hearts with Your grace to love one another. In your Son’s holy name, Jesus! Amen!
