Weeping Willow

Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. Colossians 2:7

The weeping willow’s branches drooped quietly until the gust of wind blew. Suddenly, it’s branches lifted and floated into the air, yet still connected safely to the tree. The branches just ebbed and flowed along with the breeze and gusts of wind. The trunk stood firm as the roots were deep. When the breeze lulled, the branches fell back to weeping and resting.

How are your branches doing in this windy weather? Are you floating with the everyday restrictions or are you breaking with each gust? Are you feeling weepy or has something uplifted you?

Though events are ever-changing like the wind, our God provides deep-rooted stability when we call on Him. He keeps us tethered though the winds may roar. Take this opportunity to grow your roots deeper into the soil of His Word. Take out your Bible, read and journal what the Lord has taught you and overflow with thankfulness!

Be encouraged!

Prayer: Dear Lord, when we feel the wind upon our lives, help us to remember that you keep us rooted and strong! Help us to have faith-filled lives that overflow with thankfulness during these times. Help us to love and encourage our family and neighbors. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

  1. Tiffany, I just finished texting a Psalm and a prayer to encourage a dear friend – then I read your devotional for today – wow! Such a dovetail into my prayer. I forwarded it right away. Thank you for being sensitive to the still small voice of the Holy Spirit within you.

    Blessings,
    Moe
