In your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asked you to give the reason for the hope that you have. 1 Peter 3:15
My niece had a dream the other night that the world was in the end of times. She said the believers were recognized by the socks they wore (she’s a softball player). She saw hundreds of people standing in lines and she could see many with their “Jesus socks” on, but for some reason no one could see her “Jesus socks”. She looked down at her legs and she could clearly see them, yet no one else could.
She awoke from the dream feeling anxious and unsettled. As she prayed and contemplated the dream, she came to the conclusion that the Lord was asking her if anyone could tell that she was a believer?
She felt confident in her salvation, but she knew friends outside of church had little idea that she loved and trusted Jesus as her Savior.
She confessed to her grandma that she didn’t get much out of reading her Bible, she just didn’t understand it. And even in church, her mind would often wander as she would find herself thinking about what she needed to do when she got home.
What could she do to grow her relationship with the Lord, she asked her grandma? Something to help her feel more confident in sharing her faith with others.
Can anyone see your “Jesus socks”? Does anyone know you love Jesus? What evidence of your faith can the world see?
Do you desire a closer relationship with the Lord, so you too will feel confident in sharing your faith?
I pray that your answer is, “Yes, yes, yes! I love Jesus, I have accepted Him as my Lord and Savior and I want my faith and my relationship with the Lord to grow!”
Well I have good news for you today, the answer to that desire is of course the Word of God.
And that’s exactly what my niece’s grandma shared with her. She told her a Bible study changed everything for her and brought the Word of God alive. That the Bible was full of stories of real people, their failures and victories, their heartbreaks and their passionate joyful worship of God.
Bible studies will burst open the door to a personal, ongoing relationship with the Lord, that will change your life forever. Soon everyone will see your “Jesus socks”!
Start a Bible study today, you will never regret it.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of your beautiful Word, the Bible. Help us to dive deep into it’s depths and emerge a people that truly know how to love you with all of our hearts, minds and souls. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
