Undivided Attention

Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead. Psalm 86:11-13

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

John 10:27

Today, I have many questions. It is fun Friday after all. So, here goes: do you feel like you’ve been grounded and you are wondering when this will all be over? Are you crossing off the days on the calendar because you can’t remember which day it is? Do you no longer refer to the days as Monday or Tuesday, but that day and this day? Are you done organizing every drawer, closet and cupboard in your home?

Have you rearranged your furniture, swapped your decor or added new things to your home to make this the best STAYCATION ever!? Do you text or call your family members that are in the other room just so that you can feel like you are away? Instead of texting, “I’ve just landed at PDX”, do you text your husband, “I’m in the KIT (kitchen) or the LVR (living room)?”

Have you implemented a new schedule? Do you divide your day in different areas of your home? Are you reading the Bible together as a family in the mornings at the kitchen table? Are you playing the piano in your living room? Are you reading in your bedroom? Are you drawing outside on the roof? Seriously, now: have you begun any Zoom bible studies? Are you enjoying your church’s on-line service? Have you written letters to family members or friends to encourage them during this unprecedented time? I am curious as to what our readers have been doing with their time. Please feel free to leave comments. Let’s encourage one another and remember that we have each other and we have the undivided attention of our Heavenly Father!

Be encouraged!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that you are with us always. At every hour we can call out to you and you hear us! You deliver us from the depths of sorrow and loneliness. You hear our cries and our songs of thanksgiving. For great is your love toward us. Help us to have an undivided heart that pulses to the sound of your voice. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.

  1. We are in complete lockdown here in Panama…. as a woman, I can get out and shop 1 hour a day, 3 days a week. My hubby can only get out 2 days a week for an hour… Saturday’s & Sunday’s, everybody must stay home. It’s not been easy!!! My life saver has been the ability to go out 4 afternoons a week to bring food to the poorest neighborhoods in our community. It been so wonderful to see God at work in these peoples lives through this crisis!!!

    1. That’s so harsh!! I’m so sorry. At least Derek and I have been able to see Deb and Bill and we take care of Ammy and do her shopping for her.
But this lock down is taking its toll on us. I miss socializing so much!! And I’m more of an introvert.
Bless you sister for your love and care of the poor. ❤️

  2. Oh, Marlene! Your act of kindness to those in need is beautiful! Bless your heart! We certainly miss you! Take care!
