Why Study the Bible?

You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Psalm 16:11

Studying the Bible, took me from feeling like an acquaintance of Gods, to knowing I am His dearly beloved. The Lord has always known me, but I have not truly known Him, until I learned who He was through the Bible.

I have been a believer for 20 years, faithfully attending church, fellowship gatherings and listening to occasional Bible speakers. My pastor was wonderful and always encouraged us to be reading the Bible daily, but I could never keep up the discipline for long.

It was not until I started a Bible study, with a take-home lesson that my faith and my relationship with the Lord truly began to grow. Having a group to discuss my answers with, gave me accountability to complete my lessons. And the more I read and studied the Word for myself, the more I began to understand who I was and how much God loved me.

Bible studies helped me comprehend what I was reading. They made me slow down and think about the scripture. With a little bit of commentary and the other Bible passages given, I was able to better understand what I was reading. I recommend Bible studies to everyone, especially those from Aspen Place ministries. They are life-changing and once you begin to study the Bible for yourself, you’ll never want to stop.

I encourage you to start your Bible study adventures today.
