And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18
The fog over the valley is both gloomy and beautiful. It takes a known beautiful scene and turns it into something unseen, blanketed from our eyes. Familiar shapes blur into something new. It can be calming like a fresh blanket of pure white snow. Or the fog can be unsettling like a veil covering details to become unknown.
In Genesis 29, Laban used the wedding veil to cover Leah from Jacob when he was expecting to marry Rachel. It is unsettling to be deceived: it is unsettling to not be desired. Both Jacob and Leah were not experiencing joy in the morning. I wonder how many of us have been feeling like there is a veil over us right now? Maybe, someone is feeling quite gloomy this morning, without joy, noticing that a thick fog has clutched you. Possibly, there are feelings of pain because of deception or rejection that has occurred some time in your life. Those feelings are real, yet can be overcome!
Our God does not deceive or reject. He is a God of love. He will meet every need that you have. Go to Him in prayer. Bring Him the burdens you carry. Drop them at His feet. He wants to lift the veil from your eyes so that you can see His beautiful face; one of gentleness and love. Seek Him for help, restoration and peace.
Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. Psalm 34:5
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you that you care about every detail in our lives. You are right there waiting to hear from us and to save us. It is through Jesus that we are saved! In His precious name. Amen.
