You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit— fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. John 15:16

Do you feel chosen and significant? Do you struggle with bearing these fruits? Are your grapes more like raisins?! I know, at times, in my daily routine of running my mother-in-love to doctors, picking up prescriptions, driving the boys to an event or the dog to the vets, or cleaning the kitchen or bathroom, I don’t feel significant.

When I start feeling run down or overwhelmed, I know it’s time to rest. I find that my days are best when I start with the Lord. His Word tells me that I am chosen, appointed, and significant no matter how broken, frustrated, or run down I allow myself to become. Thankfully, He restores me and gives me strength to continue and to find joy in all things.

Be encouraged by the truth in the following verses. Let it sink in and fill you with confidence knowing that you are a child of God (John 1:12); you are significant!

Matthew 5:13-14 — You are the salt and light of the earth.

John 15:1, 5 — You are a branch of the true vine.

Acts 1:8 — You are a personal witness of Christ’s.

1 Corinthians 3:16 — You are God’s temple.

2 Corinthians 6:1 –You are God’s co-worker (1 Corinthians 3:9).

Ephesians 2:10 — You are God’s workmanship.

Philippians 4:13 –You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for choosing me and anointing me to bear beautiful, sweet fruit. Most of all, thank you for your grace when I bear dried up raisins, tart cherries and sour grapes. Thank you for the renewing of your word and the filling of the Spirit. May I be sweet in my daily routine. In your precious Son’s name, Jesus. Amen
