Perfect Peace

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3 ESV

The morning hung still and quiet in the midst of the elegant pine trees. As if these stately trees were standing as sentinels to the area, guarding it’s precious peace.

Don’t these woods know of the chaos in the world and the uncertainty in my heart? How can nature be at peace? Fires rage, storms come and predators roam the forest. There is no guarantee of safety anywhere.

However right now, in this moment, I too am at peace. I do not know what the future holds or what storm is around the corner, but I will trust in the Lord my God.

How can I come to this conclusion, you may ask, when the world seems to be standing on the very brink of chaos at every turn?

I remember how the Lord was with my family and helped us in the past. This is not the first time our future has looked so uncertain and even scary. The Lord has seen us through every trial and hardship. We can look back and see His hand of protection throughout our entire lives.

I will cling to the Lord’s faithfulness and trust Him through these challenging times as well.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Let not your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27

Prayer: Praise you Heavenly Father for your loving care and guidance of your children in every situation. Help us keep our thoughts on you and not on the uncertainty and chaos of the world. Remembering your faithfulness to us in the past, we will cling to you for our future. In Jesus name. Amen.

  1. Oh Linda, this is such a timely message with all the fires raging in our state among the other trials. I love both the verses you used. Peace can be so elusive if we look to the world, but if we look to Jesus, it is always there for us. Yes, Amen to your heartfelt prayer!. Please Father, for each on of us, our families, our cities, our states, our nation, and your World. Blessings my dear friend, Susan

  2. Linda, thank you for your timely message. There is so much going on that we could quickly lose our peace, especially if it is worldly peace. So grateful that we have access to our heavenly peace that only Jesus can provide. I loved both your scripture references. God knew we would need these reminders. Amen to your prayer, for our families, city, state, nation, and our world. May His perfect peace be with you , Susan
